If I don’t eat chicken for a couple of days, my craving for it reaches a very high level and today was one of those days. So I decided to try Korean Fried Chicken at Gami. It was crispy, soft, spicy, sweet, satisfying, delicious, all at once.
Gami is located on Glenferrie road. The restaurant is really well lit. The interior is very nice and welcoming. Their menu was of very high quality. Every page was well thought out and was made to really help the customers. Every dish was nicely picturised and I could see exactly what I will get when I order something.
I went for the full chicken with spicy and soy garlic flavor. That is full chicken cut up into pieces and then deep-fried and then coated with the sauces that you choose.
The chicken was cooked amazingly well. The coating on the outside was seriously crispy and the inside was soft and juicy. I liked the spicy flavored chicken. It was just the right amount of spice for me. My threshold for the spice level in my food is high so this flavor might be a bit too spicy for some. The chicken was perfectly coated with the flavor I loved the way the chicken looked in the red spicy sauce.
I did not like the soy garlic flavor that much because it was a bit too sweet for me. I did not expect it to be sweet at all, but the staff told me it is supposed to be that sweet which wasn’t to my liking. I also missed the hand glove that is provided at other restaurants so that you don’t get your hands dirty.
This place had many more dishes that looked stunning and I think I will go back for those. But if you are looking for a place to try the Korean Frid chicken then I will definitely recommend this place.
